Our Garden!

So this year I was determined to plant a garden. Last year I just planted zucchini and summer squash but nothing grew. It was really embarrassing because my sister Melanie said that you can grow anything in Oregon. Well I guess I can't. So this year I was going to change that. So we got new soil to put in and I made this box to protect them from little feet. We bought miracle grow and we found the spot in our backyard that would get the most sun. (if there is any sun in Portland) Yes this year we were going all out.

This is where we planted all of the plants that we got from the store. They were already started so I just had to keep them alive. So far so good. We planted Red tomatoes (front left), Strawberries (next two up from the tomato), two pepper plant (top two to your right), and then a yellow tomato plant (bottom right).

In this area we decide that we would try planting seeds. We planted green beans and cucumbers. Beca loved putting the seeds in the holes. The cucumbers she had a harder time but she did awesome.

Josh was a great help!
I am not a very patient person so after I got all the stuff I went to work. I put the new soil in and built the box to go around it. I made the first garden area that you saw. By the time I was done I was so tired and sore but you have to remember that I was 7 or 8 months pregnant when I was doing this. So when Josh got home he wasn't very happy with me but it was done so he couldn't get to mad. But after that he wouldn't let me do much.

Our cute little garden!
We will keep you posted with how it is doing!

Easter!!!

We had tons of fun on Easter! In the morning Beca got to see what the Easter bunny brought her and find the eggs. She was so good at it and she loved it! I think that she was so good because she got lots of good practice finding eggs with grandpa when we were down in Idaho.
After she found all the eggs she wanted to find them again and again. I think we hid eggs everyday after Easter for a week.

This is Beca right out of bed ready to go find what the Easter Bunny had brought her.

She was so proud that she found all the eggs. Just so you are not worried we only did eleven eggs because one broke. So she did find all of them. She is so cute. I love this picture.

Our wonderful eggs!

This is Beca's egg it has her name on it and she loved it. She would find it and tell me that this is Beca's egg.

Then after General Conference we went to our Hailey Egbert aunt's house to eat dinner and have an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

They had real chicks there for the kids to hold and see.

But most of the time Beca was more into this ball. She thought it was the coolest thing ever. I thought this was such a cute picture of her that I just had to put it in.

So here they are doing the Easter egg hunt. I know this is not the best picture but it was raining really hard and i am not the best picture taker. So this is the only picture of them doing the egg hunt and it is focused on the tree branch. Just look beyond the branch.

These are all the egg that she found. She got way spoiled. There were so many eggs that they wouldn't fit in her basket.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Beca's 2nd Birthday

So Beca's Birthday was a very wet day it rained the most i had seen for a long time. So we got to try out her new rain boots. She loves her rain boots. they are the first thing that she puts on in the morning before she goes to eat breakfast. So on the 29th we had a private party just the family and then on the 31st we had a big party with all of her friends. We had a great turn out and it was a lot of fun. Thanks to all those who brought presents and food.

So I really wanted to do a fancy cake for Beca. I haven't ever done one before so it was an adventure. Luckily I had Josh there to keep me from going crazy. So after about 4 hours we had a cake and it was so cute. I am proud and very surprised that it turned out so well. So just to prove that it turned out I took lots of pictures. So i hope you like it.

The engine and the coal car was the hardest but Josh did a very good job on it.

We thought that every train needs animals on it.

This one was my favorite maybe because I love gummy worms but in this case they were snakes.

And then there is the caboose.

Beca got tons of great gifts and she got very spoiled so thanks once again for all the awesome gifts.

Beca's 1st Cookies

So we decided to make cookies while Daddy was at one of his meeting. Beca wanted to make some by herself so that is what she did.

I would put in my ingredient and then I would give the measuring cup or spoon then she would put the amount that she thought went in there.

Then she would stir it while I did the next thing. The only thing that I did for her was the egg and the butter but everything else she did.

She loves chocolate chips so i had to be very careful when she put them in to her mixture because she wanted to eat them out. So if you look behind the bowl there is some that wasn't in there that she was eating the whole time we were doing this.

Then we put them on the cookie sheet and 12 min later...

COOKIES!!!

She made them special just for her daddy. So it was only natural for him to take the 1st bite!

Well surprisingly they were not to bad just a little dry. I think she did awesome and she is one of my best helpers. Josh thought that they were good and had a couple of them so we have a little baker on our hands.

These Boots Are Made For Walking

We found some new boots at Goodwill and Beca loves them. She also learned how to remove her clothes so that explains the legs. This is her saying Cheese.
Now She wants to see the picture while saying "oh cute"

What can I say She is so Cute. What a Poser?

Here she is showing off some leg. She is going to be trouble.

She is trying to pose like mommy with her hand on her hip.
She sure loves putting her boots on and running around the house.

I love it when family comes to visit!

So my parents came in to town to see us! We love it when we get visitors. We decided to go to the Zoo since they had never gone before. Well at least the Oregon Zoo. I think we saw everything there was to see at the zoo and if we didn't i would be surprised because we were there for 5 hour. The crazy part about that was it really didn't seem like we were there that long.

She is so cute!

It must have been because my parents wee there but that animals were all out and doing thing. I have never seen so many animals that were active and playing on the same day. you always see a few animals playing but not most of them.

We took a lunch to the zoo and that is the only way to do it. You get to have a picnic and you don't get tempted by the food booths that will cost you an arm and a leg.

Beca calls all the cat at the zoo kitties and they are her favorite.

After our picnic we let Beca ride some animal. I bet you have never ridden a hippo before!

This animal we are not sure what it is. It could be a camel or a slug but Beca really liked it so she rode that one two.

This was the best animal of the day. It was the polar bear. HE was playing in the water for a really long time. He had this ball that he would throw up in the air and then he would tap it with his head and catch it in the other hand. I don't think he ever really caught it but he was awesome.

HE is so big you could see him in the water playing and then he would push off the glass that was a little scary. Very big animal pushing on the one think that separates you from him. Ya a little nerve racking.

This lion was awesome!

It loved this little girl in the corner of the picture. The lion started licking the glass right by that girls head. We think that the Lion was hungry. they were really active too.

Isn't she so cute and talented! She is on an elephant trike but she wasn't able to move it! that is probable a good thing !!

So we all got on it and we were still so little to move it i guess that is way it is for an elephant!
HA HA!

Well we had tons of fun at the zoo and by the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my DAD it was his b-day on this day we were there. He also had to put up with a lot of stuff that we did to him. We love both of our parents a lot and we loved having you here!
