Why do we have Children?

So it really makes me wonder why Heavenly Father blesses us with children. I always thought it was so that I could teach them the right thing and hope and pray that they choose the right. Well I was wrong! So today I was putting a puzzle together with my two year old, Beca and she was getting on my nerves a little bit. That is when she looks at me and said " Mommy why are you yelling at me". That really stopped me in my tracks and made me think. Was I yelling at her? Why was I yelling at her? and what about? After I stopped and looked at the situation I was getting mad at her because she wasn't letting me do the puzzle the way I wanted it to be done. So today I realized why we have Children to keep us humble, to teach us how to share, and to tell us what we need to work on while we are being parents.
Well the good news is I listened to Beca and after that the puzzle went really well and we had tons of fun.
I love you at ton Beca Rae!

Our Garden!

So this year I was determined to plant a garden. Last year I just planted zucchini and summer squash but nothing grew. It was really embarrassing because my sister Melanie said that you can grow anything in Oregon. Well I guess I can't. So this year I was going to change that. So we got new soil to put in and I made this box to protect them from little feet. We bought miracle grow and we found the spot in our backyard that would get the most sun. (if there is any sun in Portland) Yes this year we were going all out.

This is where we planted all of the plants that we got from the store. They were already started so I just had to keep them alive. So far so good. We planted Red tomatoes (front left), Strawberries (next two up from the tomato), two pepper plant (top two to your right), and then a yellow tomato plant (bottom right).

In this area we decide that we would try planting seeds. We planted green beans and cucumbers. Beca loved putting the seeds in the holes. The cucumbers she had a harder time but she did awesome.

Josh was a great help!
I am not a very patient person so after I got all the stuff I went to work. I put the new soil in and built the box to go around it. I made the first garden area that you saw. By the time I was done I was so tired and sore but you have to remember that I was 7 or 8 months pregnant when I was doing this. So when Josh got home he wasn't very happy with me but it was done so he couldn't get to mad. But after that he wouldn't let me do much.

Our cute little garden!
We will keep you posted with how it is doing!

Easter!!!

We had tons of fun on Easter! In the morning Beca got to see what the Easter bunny brought her and find the eggs. She was so good at it and she loved it! I think that she was so good because she got lots of good practice finding eggs with grandpa when we were down in Idaho.
After she found all the eggs she wanted to find them again and again. I think we hid eggs everyday after Easter for a week.

This is Beca right out of bed ready to go find what the Easter Bunny had brought her.

She was so proud that she found all the eggs. Just so you are not worried we only did eleven eggs because one broke. So she did find all of them. She is so cute. I love this picture.

Our wonderful eggs!

This is Beca's egg it has her name on it and she loved it. She would find it and tell me that this is Beca's egg.

Then after General Conference we went to our Hailey Egbert aunt's house to eat dinner and have an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

They had real chicks there for the kids to hold and see.

But most of the time Beca was more into this ball. She thought it was the coolest thing ever. I thought this was such a cute picture of her that I just had to put it in.

So here they are doing the Easter egg hunt. I know this is not the best picture but it was raining really hard and i am not the best picture taker. So this is the only picture of them doing the egg hunt and it is focused on the tree branch. Just look beyond the branch.

These are all the egg that she found. She got way spoiled. There were so many eggs that they wouldn't fit in her basket.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Beca's 2nd Birthday

So Beca's Birthday was a very wet day it rained the most i had seen for a long time. So we got to try out her new rain boots. She loves her rain boots. they are the first thing that she puts on in the morning before she goes to eat breakfast. So on the 29th we had a private party just the family and then on the 31st we had a big party with all of her friends. We had a great turn out and it was a lot of fun. Thanks to all those who brought presents and food.

So I really wanted to do a fancy cake for Beca. I haven't ever done one before so it was an adventure. Luckily I had Josh there to keep me from going crazy. So after about 4 hours we had a cake and it was so cute. I am proud and very surprised that it turned out so well. So just to prove that it turned out I took lots of pictures. So i hope you like it.

The engine and the coal car was the hardest but Josh did a very good job on it.

We thought that every train needs animals on it.

This one was my favorite maybe because I love gummy worms but in this case they were snakes.

And then there is the caboose.

Beca got tons of great gifts and she got very spoiled so thanks once again for all the awesome gifts.
